This small village is bisected N to S by an important main road, know as «  the road to the South » because it ends at Bayonne, and E to W by the river the Sarthe.
Juillé has a historical past linked to a famous warrior, Duguesclin who stayed, before the battle of Pontvallain, in the chateau. The remains of this building, an octogonal tower dating from the 3rd & 4th centuries and parts of its walls can still be seen.
In 1944, General Leclerc and his troups liberated Juillé from the German occupation. To honor him a statue was errected in the centre of village.
